» Eclipse Foundation
Eclipse is an open source community whose projects are focused on providing an extensible development platform and application frameworks for building software. Eclipse provides extensible tools and frameworks that span the software development lifecycle, including support for modeling, language development environments for Java, C/C++ and others, testing and performance, business intelligence, rich client applications and embedded development.
» Free Software Foundation
The Free Software Foundation (FSF) is dedicated to promoting computer users' rights to use, study, copy, modify, and redistribute computer programs. The FSF promotes the development and use of free software, particularly the GNU operating system, used widely in its GNU/Linux variant.
» Free Standards Group
The Free Standards Group is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the use of free and open source software by developing and promoting standards. Key Free Standards Group projects include the Linux Standard Base (LSB), and OpenI18N, the internationalization initiative. Supported by leaders in the IT industry as well as the open source development community, the Free Standards Group fulfills a critical need to have common behavioral specifications, tools and ABIs across Linux platforms.
» Gentoo Linux
Gentoo Linux is a special flavor of Linux that can be automatically optimized and customized for just about any application or need. Extreme configurability, performance and a top-notch user and developer community are all hallmarks of the Gentoo experience.
» GNOME Foundation
The GNOME project provides the GNOME desktop environment, an intuitive and attractive desktop, and the GNOME development platform, an extensive framework for building applications that integrate into the the desktop.
» Linux International (LI)
Linux International is a non-profit association of groups, corporations and others that work towards the promotion of growth of the Linux operating system and the Linux community.
» Linux Standard Base (LSB)
The Linux Standard Base strives to develop and promote a set of standards that will increase compatibility among Linux distributions and enable software applications to run on any compliant system and helps coordinate efforts to recruit software vendors to port and write products for Linux.
» Open Source Software Institute
The Open Source Software Institute (OSSI) is a non-profit organization comprised of corporate, government and academic representatives whose mission is to promote the development and implementation of open-source software solutions within U.S. federal, state and municipal government agencies and academic entities.
» Open Source Development Labs (OSDL)
OSDL is dedicated to accelerating the growth and adoption of Linux in the enterprise. Founded in 2000 and supported by a global consortium of IT industry leaders, OSDL is a non-profit organization that provides state-of-the-art computing and test facilities in the United States and Japan available to developers around the world.
» South Africa Open Source Centre
(CSIR-OSC)

The aim of the OSC is to stimulate the awareness and understanding of open source software in Southern Africa, while contributing to similar efforts on the continent and in the rest of the world.
